You are reading a site with one phone number on it. It is fair to ask who benefits when you dial it.
This site carries advertising. When a call placed through the number connects and runs long enough to be a real conversation, the site earns an advertising fee. Nothing is added to what you pay a contractor, and nothing is charged to you for reading or for calling.
There is no membership, no enquiry form sold on to several companies, and no second number that goes somewhere else. The rest of the arrangement is set out at the foot of every page.
What that changes
It means this site has an interest in your calling, and you should read it knowing that. The honest way to handle such an interest is not to promise it has no effect — anyone can promise that — but to make the effect checkable.
So every figure here comes from somewhere you can open yourself. Flood zone shares and insurance take-up come from FEMA’s published data. Humidity and frost come from NOAA and PRISM climate normals. The ten square feet and the 24 to 48 hours come from EPA. The position on testing comes from CDC. Where a rule is described, it is named by section so you can read it rather than take our word.
Four things this site will not publish
Reviews. We have done no work, so we have no customers to quote. Invented ones are the oldest trick in this trade.
Prices. Nobody can price a wet house without reading moisture in it. A number here would anchor you before anyone had looked.
Arrival times. We dispatch nobody, so we cannot promise when anyone turns up. The trade aims at a callback within the hour and a crew on site within four; that is what you may reasonably expect from a contractor, not a promise from us.
Descriptions of the contractor. Nobody here is described as checked, approved or covered, because none of that is verified by us and a claim we cannot stand behind is worth less than no claim at all. Check the licence yourself →
